about

Well, my hard drives just got wiped... so I figured since I'll never have the stems for this song to try and remix or finish it, I might as well put it up! I never got to put the solo in this song... but it's pretty fitting

lyrics

Hope springs (dried up)

I've spent days wishin' I'd done it right, must have been a better way.
It’s like a maze, keeping' your spirits high, there's nothing I could say.
You were dazed, you didn't care about a thing. There were days where you wouldn't eat, and days you wouldn't sing.
All out of spite, how hard I tried, and it was looking like the end was nigh.

But I remember the day I got through. I broke down that door and I came looking for you.
Hope springs eternal, I know this for fact. But hope won't guarantee that the good times will last.

Too much of a good thing's bad, at least I hear that's what they say. I’ve gone through a life time supply just to get me through the day. I've overdosed on sad, guess I could use some dopamine, I'll try and live in the past, the present ain't what it should be.

So when the leaves turn to rust, and they fall from the tree. It's just the passing of the season, returning to harmony. Hope springs eternal, I know this for fact. But hope won't guarantee that the good times will last.

So let's live in ignorance.
